About
Sidey Design Architecture is a CIAT registered practice based in the market town of Higham Ferrers, Northamptonshire. We are a company that values good design and solutions that work. We are approachable and offer all aspects of architectural design, ranging from residential housing schemes, individually designed homes, extension and renovations, listed and heritage projects, schools and retail units just to mention a few.
Jon Sidey started the practice in 1991 and has gone on to build a great team and a reputation to provide designs and solutions that encompass our clients brief. The ethos of the company is to offer value to the client whilst offering a full design service incorporating modern construction techniques.

Higham Ferrers, Northamptonshire
This homely cottage went though an extensive re-model and contemporisation project which lasted roughly 3 months.
The new build was initially designed to allow more light to enter the property through velux windows and a new lantern roof, modernising the interior and creating a bright new lease of life.
The stages shown right display some further details about each part of the design process.
STAGE 1
Belongings and
furniture removed
to clear space for the
construction.
Walls & ceiling
prepared for
removal.
STAGE 2
Walls and carpet
are stripped to
reveal bare foundation
walls.
Interior ceilings
removed to expose
trusses/joists.
STAGE 3
Interior wall
removed.
Velux windows fitted
between exposed
trusses and space for
a flat rooflight
created.
STAGE 4
Old roof tiles are
removed and replaced
with new tiles,
giving the sloping roof a refreshing
new look.
FINISHED
PROJECT
The completed
re-model created more living space, making it
much more homely
and family
oriented.
